MKI’s newly developed Heavyweight Jersey bases, launching for 2024, are designed in house and made in Portugal. The items are pre-shrunk and have newly designed oversized box and relaxed fits. The t-shirts and longsleeves are produced in a Heavyweight 300 GSM 100% cotton, with a close-fitting neckline and dropped shoulders. The 500 GSM crewnecks and hoodys have a brushed loopback interior for a soft to the touch feel, and the inclusion of a double layer hood. 500 GSM Cotton / Poly blend is continued across the joggers and shorts, with an elasticated waistband, drawstring adjusters, and twin side seam and rear patch pockets.

WHAT IS AN OVERSIZED FIT?
The garment has drop shoulders, which mean the seam that joins the body and sleeves fall off your shoulders, sitting at the top of your arm. The sleeves on t-shirts will fall lower on your arm closer to your elbow.
The width of the body of the item is substantially wider than your actual torso, the extra fabric means there is a looser, draped appearance to the body of the garment.
The item is shorter in the body sitting on the waistband of your trousers.
HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT TO THE OLD BASES?
The old bases were longer in the body falling, below the waistband of your trousers.
WHAT SIZE SHOULD I BUY FOR AN OVERSIZED, BOXY FIT?
We recommend purchasing your regular size, as the item is designed with an oversized and boxy cut.
For example, if you regularly buy a medium in a regular fit t-shirt, purchasing a medium in the new MKI range will have the intended oversized and boxy fit.

WHAT IS A RELAXED FIT?
RELAXED FIT JOGGERS
The relaxed fit features a wider cut of the leg, with a slight drape to the fabric giving a looser fit consistently down the length of the leg.
With a cuffed hem, the ankle of the jogger gathers the fabric of the leg close to the ankle at the bottom seam of the jogger.
The joggers feature an elasticated waist and drawstrings to slightly adjust the fit to be most comfortable.
RELAXED FIT SHORTS
The relaxed fit features a wider cut of the leg, with a slight drape to the fabric giving a looser fit ending in an open hem.
The shorts feature an elasticated waist and drawstrings to slightly adjust the fit to be most comfortable.
HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT TO THE OLD BASES?
The old bases featured a tapered, slim leg. the design of new base items is the same as our superweight collection.
WHAT SIZE SHOULD I BUY FOR A RELAXED, LOOSE FITTING JOGGER OR SHORT?
Be recommend purchasing your regular size, as the item is designed with a relaxed silhouette.
By checking the size guide you can find the waist measurements of the item, for example, the medium has a waist measurement of 32”.
The first release on the new heavyweight bases; The MKI Uniform Collection; releases on the 14th June. The collection features a singular screen printed mki miyuki zoku logo on the front left chest or front left leg. The minimal design offers a staple range of high quality basics, with a sleek and considered design.
